Diplomacy, Coalitions & Global Blocs
No nation exists in isolation. Diplomacy allows Sovereign States to cooperate, negotiate, compete, and pursue their interests on the global stage.
International Coalitions
Coalitions are formal international organizations composed of Sovereign States. They function as permanent political, diplomatic, and military organizations where membership consists of countries rather than individual players.
Coalitions provide a framework for long-term cooperation while preserving the sovereignty of member nations.
Coalition Membership
A Coalition may contain a maximum of 5 Sovereign States. Membership is voluntary and may be terminated according to coalition rules.
Coalition Leadership
Every Coalition possesses a Coalition Leader who may:
- Invite member nations
- Remove member nations
- Coordinate coalition initiatives
- Organize diplomatic efforts
- Manage coalition administration
Coalition Cooperation
Coalition members may coordinate diplomacy, military planning, strategic operations, intelligence sharing, economic cooperation, and international policy. Membership does not transfer sovereignty to the Coalition.
Migration Agreements
Because all citizens possess passports and physical locations, international travel is required to enter foreign countries and participate in overseas activities.
Open Border Agreements
Citizens may travel freely between participating nations. Benefits: faster international movement · easier workforce migration · simplified tourism and relocation · improved coalition coordination. No visas or special permits required.
Visa Agreements
Citizens may enter participating countries after receiving government approval. Requirements may include valid passport, visa approval, work authorization, residency permits.
Closed Borders
Countries may restrict or prohibit foreign entry. Under Closed Borders, travel requests may be denied, immigration may be restricted, foreign participation may be limited.
Strategic Importance
Migration Agreements directly affect workforce movement, international commerce, tourism, diplomatic relations, and military deployments. Citizens must physically travel to foreign countries before participating in many activities located there.
Defense Treaties
Defense Treaties are formal military agreements between Sovereign States.
Mutual Defense Treaties
Under a Mutual Defense Treaty, member nations agree to assist one another during conflict. Military coordination is encouraged. Strategic planning may be conducted jointly. Such agreements act as a deterrent against aggression.
Coalition Defense
Coalition members often coordinate defense through shared military planning and strategic cooperation. Defense agreements strengthen trust between nations and improve collective security.
Sanctions
Sanctions restrict economic or political interaction with a targeted state.
Reasons: aggressive military actions · treaty violations · diplomatic disputes · political conflicts · economic misconduct.
Effects: restricted trade · limited market access · reduced diplomatic cooperation · increased economic pressure.
The effectiveness of sanctions often increases when multiple nations participate.
Embargoes
An Embargo is one of the most severe economic measures available. Embargoes prohibit trade or economic interaction between countries.
Effects: block imports · block exports · restrict strategic resources · reduce economic cooperation · isolate targeted nations economically.
Long-term embargoes can significantly impact industrial development and economic growth.
